FRUIT PALACE presents THE LBJBs, laying down irresistible good times heavy funk tunes with their own twist. Forming in late 2014 through playing LeftBank Bristol every week, they now host the hugely popular weekly jam night and are ramming dance floors wherever they go. The 5 piece features musicians who have played live or recorded with heavyweights including Dr Meaker, HeadShy and Dennis Rollins and are breaking out to larger audiences having played the Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club, Glastonbury and Fruit Palace. Trust us when we say you don’t want to miss them for Round 2.
PAPA & THE JIM JAMS, Kenya inspired thunder band melding raucous funk, soul and reggae originals getting dancefloors bouncing. Notorious for memorable showstopper performances packed with entertainment and anthemic sonics. The Best is Yet to Come.
HEY BUDDY, Brighton-based HEY BUDDY lay down danceable Psych/Soul/R&B with a powerful, hook heavy twin female vocal attack and a robust rhythm section. “A joyful live act. Amazing musicians making fun, tasteful music you can move to!” – J-Felix
JAKE MILLINER, South London Producer, DJ (and sometime singer, shh) – one of the UK’s most highly rated hip hop producers – draws influences from scene luminaries including J Dilla, D’Angelo and Flying Lotus and channels similar soul-enriching, unquantised feels into his own work. He’s produced for UK hip hop trio Hawk House (including ‘Chill Pill Experiment 2’), T3 (Slum Village), Musiq Soulchild and Zilo to name a few. Gaining the attention of Boiler Room and garnering a legion of boom-bap Soundcloud troops along the way. Expect a premium mix of past, present and future soul, funk and hip hop
