Superhoot presents THE ACTIVATORS, international crowd favourites. They are a 10-piece band whose eclectic style transcends rock, ska, reggae, punk, celtic and world genres, even venturing into Balkan circus, tango and bossanova.
“This folks, is what Glastonbury is all about,” and their Guilfest performance was described as “Best of the day.” ‘This Festival Feeling’ enthused: “The highlight of the day was definitely The Activators, whose set of reggae/ ska tinged punk was more like a party than a gig.” Sabotage Times: “Industrially tight with barrel loads of entertainment.”
SUGARCANE, vintage bossa nova & calypso for twenty-first century Britain. This Caribbean indie conjures up the Rio beachfront but never leaves the British winter, mixing warm tones with chilly sentiments.
As the former bassist of Mr. Hudson and the Library, Robin French toured with Amy Winehouse, The Police and Kanye West. Acoustic backyard sambas meet French chansons. Bahian drumming melds with West Indian steel pan, an old drum machine, and a toy melodica
SAMANTHA LINDO, soul, folk and trip hop and spoken word… hauntingly flawless, having ‘crowds mesmerised within seconds and her writing ‘quietly observant, yet forceful’.
Her last single was released at a secret Sofar Sounds gig supporting, James Morrison. She co-founded ‘Girl, Girls, Girls’; and was invited to sing on the soundtrack of the Museum of London’s exhibition celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the Suffragettes. She released her debut album at Bristol’s Colston Hall with a live performance at the TEDx conference ‘Daring to Disrupt’.
Her autumn tour kicks off at Hootananny where she will be performing her album ‘Gateway’ as well as freshly penned songs, new collaborations and introducing a whole new element to her performance.
CARPETFACE & DR MOON ft CHROME & ILL INSPIRED, a dubby hip hop feast of live looped instruments, drumpads, human beatbox, turntable cuts and upbeat rhyme action, flowing into CARPETFACE’s jungle d&b mashup DJ set
Hoots Comedy with Gordon Southern, the international word clown. A stand up favourite across Europe and Australasia, he’s performed in over 30 countries. He is also one of most critically acclaimed comedians at the Edinburgh Fringe, having performed over a dozen solo shows there.
Supported tonight by James Bran, a fast-rising talent on the UK comedy circuit. Refreshingly different, whilst still appealing to mainstream comedy audiences, he’s bringing his quirky blend of stand-up and comic poetry to clubs all over the country.
