Contintental Drifts presents MAiKA, a Balkan alternative Dance-Punk band from Serbia/Croatia/Montenegro.
Their music relies on modern beats, female Punk vocals, and crazy stage energy. Combining traditional Balkan music, trumpets and accordion, with new genres (Electronic, Alternative Dance, Indie Pop, Punk), MAIKA creates an authentic sound never heard before.
From the perspective (both musical and visual) of MAIKA, Balkan is an absurd mix of contrasts: religion and tradition combined with modern technology, natural beauty with destructive politics, mud with gold, ecstatic joy with tears, bloody conflicts with warm humanity and generosity. Balkan is a bizarre soup of many influences, styles, and cultures, which is the main theme of MAIKA music.
With its charm and wild energy, MAIKA will conquer the stage, your heart, and make you dance till your shoes fall off.

RIO BRASS, founded in 2018 with the intention of bringing the tradition of Carnaval Blocos to London. Every year thousands gather in Rio streets and clubs to celebrate Carnaval and to listen and party to the music of the many different Blocos “street bands” that the city has to offer. With that in mind, trumpeter and founder of Rio Brass Gabriel Dias, who is originally from Rio and has studied music at the Juilliard School in New York created the group by arranging and rehearsing popular songs from both the UK and Brazil. Rio Brass has the mission to honour the Bloco tradition of celebrating music and life in Europe. Viva o Carnaval!
