FRUIT PALACE presents LAID BLAK one of Bristol’s most exciting and loved live bands for the London launch of their eagerly anticipated second album. Be one of the first to see ‘About Time’ performed live before the band tour it across Europe.
The Laid Blak sound takes massive inspiration from ska and reggae, but has
often been described as ‘street soul’. The influences are broad and represent
sounds that define the eclecticness of Bristol music, from reggae, to dancehall, soul, hip hop, funk and jazz, whilst of course never forgetting their jungle heritage. It’s all in the blend and the result is a fun filled sunshine dance music that keeps your feet moving and your face smiling.
Multi-award winning party hip hop 3 piece THE SCRIBES whose unique
blend of beatboxing, off the cuff freestyling and genre-spanning music
has created a live show unlike any other on the scene today, with appeal
ranging far beyond hip hop fans.
LE SON, an electronic duo from South/East London. Liam and Emily
come together to create a minimal yet soulful sound, inspired by their
contrasting musical influences. Atmospheric electronic beats combine
with exceptional alluring vocals. LE SON write, record and produce all of
their music themselves and perform live as a four-piece, including bass
and drums. To date they have released two singles; ‘Without A Sound’
and ‘Ava / 1008’ on the independent South East London label
TOM EXCELL, an eclectic producer of jazz, world, reggae, hip hop, folk and electronic records on labels such as Soundway Records, Tru Thoughts and Easy Star Records to name a few. He’s the composer, producer, guitarist and percussionist for his own projects Nubiyan Twist, Chief Rockas and Onipa (alongside KOG) as well as producing and composing for many other artists.
