Hootananny Songwriters and Wordsmiths welcomes you to a night of festive treats featuring two amazing singer songwriters and a brilliant heart stopping belly rumbling band. It will feel like Christmas has come early… in a very good way.
ALEX BAYLY is a Songwriters and Wordsmiths favourite. BBC Introducing describes him as an alternative-folk artist from South East London” whose angular, reverberant guitars and effortless vocals, which float between a low, earthy richness to a beautifully brittle falsetto, channel the gorgeous ethereal balladry of Jeff Buckley and the off-kilter guitar work of Andy Shauf.”
London based soulful singer songwriter ADANNAY is back for an electrifying solo performance after lighting up the stage earlier in the year with her brilliant band.
She’s a spellbinding musical story teller with a wonderful presence and we frankly can’t wait.
HIGHWIRE is singer/songwriter Johanna Lee and a collective of folk, jazz, blues, country musicians coming together to make one almighty sound. Johanna sang at Songwriters and Wordsmiths earlier in the year as part of a duo and they blew us away, so we are really excited that she’s going to be performing with her full band.
Between them, Highwire have worked with top ten producers, performed with top artists and musicians – including George Michael, Suede, Bloc Party, Alison Limerick (Sony), Soul Hooligan (Maverick Records) and Twisted Tongue (Acid Jazz), Oli Rockberger (Laura Mvula, Carly Simon, Gloria Gaynor, John Mayer), Dominic Miller (Sting) as well as appearing at notable venues like Ronnie Scotts, the ICA and just about every London circuit venue you can name or number.
With far ranging influences that come together to make a New Folk sound, they bring years of experience together with an enduring love of music that shines through in every song. We can’t wait!
